One More State Means

  What The Bifurcation Holds
A historic event has been witnessed in India. As midnight crept in, the subjects of Telangana cheered and celebrated the formation of India's 29th state on 2nd June,2014. This has happened before in the case of other states. In the year 2000, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh were split to form Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Uttarakhand. Such events do not happen often and when they happen, there is a huge sack of light and darkness carried by the country and mainly, by its people. The story of Telangana separation is known to all given the long period of struggle and fight, so lets not get into that now.

Forget the serious repercussions. What are the possible outcomes of this historic bifurcation?

  • One more state means, having to learn about one more Chief Minister, one more group of people.
  • One more state means, one more border to cross
  • One more state means, one more message from your telecommunication service when you enter another state.
  • One more state means, one more event in History books
  • One more state means, more confusion (Warangal is in AP. Oh! Not anymore...Really?)
  • One more state means, other states wanting bifurcation too?
  • Oh wait, does this also mean, the Centre is listening?
  • The Government is functioning?
  • Leaders care for peace?
  • Democracy exists?

I honestly fail to see why such a division has been found unavoidable. Our country has had enough differences for us to bear(Perhaps, be happy about too) already and now there is one more. Also, is this what the people as a whole unsparingly want? Nevertheless, a state anew has been born and along with it have bloomed new hopes, ambitions and power in the hearts of its 35.29 million people. So countrymen, I wish thy state great prosperity and growth.
